Integrative & Functional Registered Dietitian for athletes, weight management, and food sensitivity treatment
Specialized performance nutrition based in Sun Valley, Idaho
Nutrition is a diverse field with many areas of expertise and focus. While I have comprehensive training in dietetics, I prefer to focus on specific specialty areas in which I have developed a high level of experience and proficiency. I am a registered dietitian nutritionist focusing on Nutrition for Active Living and Weight Management, Athletes Sports Performance Nutrition, and Treatment for Food Sensitivities and Allergies. My overall philosophy is: nutrition from whole foods. As one of my teacher’s from Bastyr University said, “Can you imagine your food growing?”
While my goal is food first, our current lifestyle in the 21st century does not always allow for this. Not to mention, we all have differences that can affect our nutritional requirements – genetic, socioeconomic, geographic, lifestyle, etc. Therefore, some of us may need supplementation to feel our best. Whichever methods work best for you, you are constantly fueling your body. Therefore, the fuel you put in better help you, not harm you… Where those supplements come from is very important. Please know, I only recommend and partner with companies that follow ethical manufacturing processes and guarantee the quality ingredients of their supplements.

Nutrition for Active Living and Weight Management
Let’s figure out what eating regime is going to work best for you to live an active life and maintain a healthy weight. I often say weight is relative, so I do not focus so much on the scale, but more so on how you feel in your clothes and about your body composition. Each of us is unique, but we all have 46 chromosomes that have programs for how our bodies look and work. The field of nutrigenomics (or nutritional genomics) looks at how a person’s genes affect the way their body responds to food. This field has grown incredibly in the last 20 years, and I can offer testing that can help determine which foods and eating patterns are going to work best for your lifestyle. Let me teach you how to make the right decisions for you to enhance your active lifestyle and weight management.
This is for you if:
- You’re interested in optimizing your nutrition
- You’re curious how your genetics affect your body
- You’d like to know more about which foods will work best for your body and lifestyle
- You’re seeking a healthy, active lifestyle
- You struggle with unmanageable weight gain or loss
Athlete Performance and Sports Nutrition
Want to improve your performance in your sport? Be on top of the podium? Have a specific goal, such as a half marathon, adventure race, or triathlon? How you fuel before and after training can greatly effect the benefits you can gain during training. This goes for competition too. How you fuel before your event can impact if you make it to the podium or not. How you replenish after training or during an event can increase or decrease your recovery time. I am passionate about sports nutrition and am gaining the experience hours to become board certified. I stay up-to-date with the most current evidence-based protocols through webinars, dietetic practice groups, and daily list-serve reading. If you’re an athlete or fitness-enthusiast, let me curate your sports nutrition plan and provide the foundation for optimal sports performance.
This is for you if:
- You’re experiencing extreme fatigue from your sports endeavors
- You’re interested in a better, faster recovery
- You’d like to gain an edge on the competition
- You’d like to enhance your overall energy supply
- You need help with weight management or symptoms like irregular menstrual cycles
- You’d like to understand how to fuel your body before, during, and after training
- You aren’t sure if you’re eating enough or the right foods for your training
- You’d like to optimize your strength, speed, power, and endurance
Food Sensitivities and Food Allergies Treatment
I am asked fairly often, “Why are there so many more kids with food allergies these days?” And how many conversations do you have in which your friends or co-workers say they do not eat this food or that food because they feel sick if they do? I am sure I do not need to go into detail about how many headlines are out there telling you what to eat and what not to eat for each chronic condition.
Let me start by saying, there is a difference between life-threatening food allergies and food sensitivities. I’ve worked in the Food Allergy and Eosinophilic Esophagitis Clinic at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. With my experience, I can help you determine if you or a loved one have food sensitivities that may be causing inflammation, or other digestive symptoms. Through the Lifestyle Eating and Performance program (LEAP) using the Mediator Release Test (MRT), we can determine which foods give you unwanted symptoms. This will give you the power and choice to feel your best. I can also help educate and manage those living with pre-diagnosed food allergies. I have the experience and tools to help you manage your food sensitivity or allergy.
This is for you if:
- You have digestive symptoms like bloating, nausea after eating, constipation, diarrhea, brain fog, etc.
- You area anxious about what to eat, to avoid triggering symptoms
- You need help pinpointing what food is triggering your symptoms
- You’d like guidance on how to eat with a food sensitivity
- You’ve already been diagnosed with a food allergy and have been recommended to seek help from a dietitian
